Locko Park and Locko
Hall |
 |
|
Locko Hall in Derbyshire is a magnificent
eighteenth century house set in over
300 acres of parkland about four miles east of Derby, to the
north-east of the village of Spondon.
This website takes a look at the history of this fine English
country house, parkland and gardens and suggests some easy country
walks around the park and its surroundings |
Locko's history is driven by that of the Drury-Lowe family, owners
of Locko Park since the eighteenth century.
This section looks at how successive generations have made their
mark on the hall and the park.

Locko Park is a great place for watching
the seasons change. I've taken many photographs on my walks through
the grounds. A selection of them have been collected here in a
slideshow.

Locko Hall has a rich tradition of housing
fine art works. Substantial collections have been bought and sold
over the years. This section looks at some of the more important
works that have featured in Locko collections over the years.

Locko Park is a great place for a country
walk, with a bridlepath through the park passing the lake. Some of
my favourite walks are outlined here.
